M Krugel LCSW-1Hello and Welcome

Counseling / Psychotherapy Practice in Roseburg, Oregon.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and also a Registered Nurse. I have over twelve years of experience in counseling social work, and over three decades in family nursing. My goal is to offer a warm, encouraging, and whole-person perspective to therapy. With a belief that all people have within them an innate capacity for healing and growth, my intention is that my counseling services are inherently empowering.

I offer counseling services for:

  • Children 0-12
  • Teens
  • Individuals
  • Couples
  • Families

I offer services for a host of issues including:

  • Adjustment Disorders
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • Parenting from 0-18
  • Acute and Post traumatic stress
  • Perinatal issues including infertility
  • Gender issues
  • Relationship problems

My work is holistic, with a focus on alignment of the mind, body, and social well-being.  I offer a unique approach to therapy that is primarily based upon mindfulness – whether in issues of parenting, life transitions, or in couple relationships  – bringing present moment awareness to our lives with kindness and compassion. In therapy, we will explore areas of growth, both in mind and heart, purpose and meaning. Infant Toddler Mental Health is one of my specialties, in which I offer services to parents with very young children. I also serve young families in transition, and offer therapy for issues such as infertility, grief and loss, new parent adjustment, relationship issues and post partum depression.

While I utilize a variety of mental health therapy strategies, I primarily use mindfulness and mind body integrative therapies, such as Hakomi based work and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). With couples and relationship issues, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy. These therapies are based upon attachment, neuroscience, and family systems theoretical approaches. For brief therapy, I use Solution Focused interventions. With children, I utilize parent coaching, Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy.
